TruTalent.com Launched

The TruTalent® platform and new website is now available through trutalent.com, and communication will be sent from trutalent.com email addresses.

Expanded TruTalents® Framework

The TruTalent assessment now supports an enhanced 14 TruTalents framework across assessment, matching, reporting, and job postings. Related updates include:

  • Improved TruTalent matching calculations
  • Revised talent preference configurator for jobs
  • Job postings and candidate matches now use the new TruTalents framework
  • Enhanced AI-generated top TruTalents narrative summaries for job seekers and employers

These improvements create more accurate alignment between candidate strengths and employer expectations.

Public Job Board and Job Posting Improvements

The TruTalent job board experience has been expanded to better support both employers and candidates. New features include:

TalentScout is integrated directly into the employer experience, providing an AI-powered recruiting assistant designed specifically around your active job postings. Built-in safeguards means that employers can feel confident as they use TalentScout to:

  • Ask natural-language questions about candidates and matches
  • Review AI-generated candidate insights and fit explanations
  • Access suggested prompts to accelerate recruiting workflows
  • Search and manage prior TalentScout conversations

Commerce and Credit Management

TruTalent now includes a significantly expanded employer commerce experience:

  • Purchase and manage job credits directly within the platform
  • Apply credits to active or existing job postings
  • View detailed transaction and credit history
  • Verification of billing address for tax calculations and compliance

Resume and Application Sync

Our resume service now keeps your job applications perfectly in sync — something no other platform offers. When you update your MyData® Portfolio or when an employer modifies a job posting, you’ll be notified and given the opportunity to refresh your application. This ensures employers always see the most accurate and up-to-date version of your resume.

Smarter Education Updates

Users are now prompted to review and update their education history if we detect an out-of-date education experience. This ensures your resume and MyData Portfolio always stay current and accurate.

Job Board Enhancements

  • When an employer updates a job posting, affected applicants will see a clear message on their MyData application.
  • Users will be able to continue to view “saved” or “applied” postings even after the posting has ended.

New Resume Layout

A new option under Resume Settings lets you choose the number of columns used to display your Skills and Competencies. Create a look that best fits your experience and style—single or multi-column layouts are now supported.

Integrated Job Board

Visitors can now see jobs posted through the platform on the job board. Users with registered accounts can apply for jobs once they’ve completed the TruTalents® assessment and have prepared a resume.

  • Monitor new postings in real-time
  • Save jobs of interest to your account
  • Filter job listings based on preferences like location, posting date, minimum wage, and job type
  • Manage applications within your account under the Applications section of Job Board

Skills Simplified

  • Personal and technical skills are now unified under the Skill and Competencies section for a clearer, more holistic skills profile.
  • All skills and competencies now have the option to include your level of proficiency. Those with existing personal skills in their portfolio and resume(s) may wish to add their level of proficiency.

Improved Education Experience

  • Added support for new education types
  • Improved the interface for entering and viewing education history
  • Updated resume templates to reflect Education Experience updates
  • Certifications are now part of the Education section to reduce confusion and streamline records.

Expanded Language Support

Users can now include non-standard or niche language competencies, supporting more diverse backgrounds.

  • We’ve redesigned the work experience page so AI now automatically identifies an appropriate job title to match resume attributes.
  • We’ve fixed text overflow issues for resume template previews to ensure blocks of text display correctly across pages.
  • The resume preview in the wizard now displays all fields as they will appear on the final resume, providing a more accurate preview.
  • The AI cover letter generator has been enhanced to produce one-page letters and clearly indicates when AI is generating the content.

Resume Import Enhancements

Several changes have been made to improve the import process for MyData builder and reduce the time it takes to create your first resume. Highlights include:

  • Error recognition highlights problems with the import before you can continue.

  • Font recognition for numbers resolves issue where some numeric values were not recognized by the resume import.

  • Improved location recognition with change to Google Maps

  • New fields added to import process:

    • Education section

      • Program/degree

      • Location of institution

      • Field of Study

    • Experience section

      • Position (used internally for skill matching)

Cover Letter Enhancements

The ability to generate a cover letter using AI was added. This feature uses details from MyData portfolio to customize a cover letter specifically for you. The cover letter can be regenerated as many times as you want or manually updated to tailor it to your exact requirements.

Resume Settings

Added additional settings to tailor your resume:

  • Display date formats as MM/YYYY (eg, 09/2023) or MON 9999 (eg, SEP 2023).

  • Display skill formats separated by commas or bulleted lists.

Mobile Device Enhancements

Improved the user interface on mobile devices to swipe rather than scroll for resume management. This makes the hold and drag section functionality work more smoothly.

General Enhancements

  • More user choice ‒ updated templates with different fonts

  • Change resume titles to quickly identify custom resumes

  • Hide/show Login password

  • Change password moved to Security section under user profile

  • High School education examples now relate to high school experience

  • Enhanced password functionality locks out user after too many failed attempts

  • Enhanced password functionality prevents re-use of old passwords

Spring 2023

Template settings

In templates, there is now a settings option to customize a specific resume. With this option you can customize the color for headings, add shading to headings, and make the shading corners squared or rounded.

The ability to customize the color of the main body text has also been added. The color options lets you pick from a set color palette or select any color you prefer.

Once you have customized a template, you have the option to choose the “apply to all” option to apple the settings to all templates for that resume.

Resume settings

In the resumes tab there is now a resume settings option that allows you to display additional date and competency details on a given resume. The details you can select are:

  • Date
    • Display months on work experience
    • Display months on education
    • Display start date on education experience
  • Competencies
    • Show competency levels on technical skills
    • Show competency levels on languages

Cover letter

Create a cover letter for your resume. In the MyData® Portfolio tab click or tap the cover letter option in the left hand menu. A cover letter can attach to a resume and will show up as the first page of the resume, even when you download or print your resume, provided the cover letter is set to visible. Note: Only one cover letter can be selected per resume.

Cover letter suggestions

Select the suggestion wizard to generate a cover letter based on data from your resume. The wizard will put the contents in the text box, where you can edit for accuracy and clarity.

Section visibility warning

In the resume view you will see a warning if you try to toggle on/off individual visibility when a section’s visibility is toggled off.
